Casa Eralda – Todi - Umbria
5 Bedrooms – Pool with jacuzzi
Casa Eralda is snuggled deep in the peace of the spectacular Umbrian countryside, surrounded by oak woodland yet within easy reach of all modern amenities. It is just outside the timeless, medieval town of Todi with its monuments and cathedral. Todi seems unchanged since the 15th century and the central piazza is encircled by the cathedral, the Capitano Palazzo, the Priore Palazzo and the Popolo Palazzo. This beautiful piazza is, in fact, often used as a film setting.
There is also another medieval village just around the corner from Casa Eralda with some of the best restaurants in the area as well as all the usual shops, supermarkets and bars.
Perugia is an enchanting university city famous for its art, culture, summer jazz festival and chocolate! Perugia was home to the painter Pietro Vannuci, known as Perugino and teacher to Raphael the great Renaissance artist. Vannuci's frescoes still decorate the Sala del Cambio and there are various paintings in the National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia.
If you're looking for magnificent medieval hilltop towns, then Orvieto is a great place to start. It is perhaps one of the most dramatic towns in Europe for its setting on a high, flat summit. It has remained more or less unchanged since the Middle Ages and boasts a spectacular Cathedral and secret labyrinth of 1200 underground tunnels. The tunnels were mainly used as secret escapes for the aristocratic homes during times of siege.
Casa Eralda is in a peaceful location, ideal for exploring the medieval wonders of this part of Umbria.
Perugia international airport is 30 km away, Rome's Fiumicino and Ciampino airports about 120 km and Florence airport about 200 km away.
