Exactly halfway between Siena and Florence, the second pearl of Chianti absolutely to visit is Panzano in Chianti, the ideal stop to breathe the air of the tranquility of the hill and visit a medieval village where time seems to stand still and from which to capture evocative images. Just ten minutes from Greve, and known for its excellent organic wines and olive oil, Panzano is a charming village with shops, wineries, restaurants, and less than 1000 people.

In about one hour by car, you can reach San Gimignano, one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Italy. From afar, San Gimignano looks like a town from a Renaissance painting: a circle of 13th-century walls enclosing tall, teetering stone towers. Its towers make it instantly recognizable, but the art treasures held within its walls are just as remarkable. Although the town is small, there is enough art, architecture and fine food to keep you busy for more than one day.

In one hour by car, you can also reach the medieval town of Siena. With three of the most stylish properties in the Tuscan countryside, Villa La Marcellina is a 20-acre estate on a hill below the ancient hamlet of Panzano. Access to the property is through two different and short, not paved roads starting from the town. Located in the heart of Chianti, the estate is perfect for families or friends who want to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside in complete privacy: two of the villas were built during the 16th and 17th century as farmhouses, while the third villa is a new addition.

Surrounded by greenery, the property has been masterfully restored while preserving the atmosphere of a traditional Tuscan residence. After four years of renovation, which was completed in 2018 and has involved a specialized architect, a construction company of local artisans, and a search of original materials from all over Italy, this property is now available for rent. Moreover, during the restoration process, the owners have respected the environment with the use of clean energy sources like solar and geothermal energy.

Please note that high hedgerows divide the outdoor spaces of the villas, while windows and gates are positioned in order to avoid any kind of privacy limitation. Here you will also find an exceptional newly-built swimming pool (4 x 8 m) and a generous poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers inviting guests to sit back and unwind.

Merging the old-world with the new, Villa Le Scuderie shows off its ancient authenticity on the exterior with original stone walls and tiled roofs, while inside, you can appreciate the updated, contemporary atmosphere, decorated with high-end electronics and designer furnishings. The villa’s unique floor plan is a testament to the owner's desire not to change the original structure. The kitchen, dining room and living area seamlessly flow out to the terrace, where you will find more dining space.

From the outdoor terrace, you will access the living and dining area complete with fully-equipped kitchen. On the same floor you will also find a guest bathroom. From the main level, a short flight of steps leads to an elegant living room on the upper floor and an exclusive indoor heated pool with relaxing lights, small bar and sitting area. On the same level you will also find a hallway leading to four bedrooms: three double bedrooms and a triple room (with a double bed and single bed), each with en-suite bathroom with shower.
