In less than one hour by car, you can reach Florence, a treasure trove of art with an astonishing contemporary vibe. Beyond the extraordinary artistic heritage, a testimony to its centuries of civilization, the best way to enjoy Florence is to stroll along the riverside avenues at sunset, or to get lost among the city’s myriad alleyways of the bohemian Oltrarno or the narrow little streets of San Niccolò, where it feels like you have ended up in another time along its centuries-old walls.

The villa is also a few kilometers from the medieval town of Siena. Its ancient red brick buildings, the scallop-shaped main square Piazza del Campo and the Cathedral Square, dominated by the zebra-striped Duomo, make it an absolute must for anyone traveling to Tuscany. Effectively an open-air museum celebrating the Gothic, Siena boasts secular monuments that have retained both their medieval forms and their exceptional art collections, providing plenty to marvel at.

In one hour by car, you can reach the walled town of San Gimignano, one of Italy’s best-preserved medieval villages. As you crest the nearby hills, the fourteen towers of the town rise up like a medieval Manhattan. Today, not even the plague would deter the swarms of summer day trippers, lured by a palpable sense of history and the enchanting rural setting. The historic center was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, and strolling through the streets will make you feel like you have stepped back in time.

The villa is a few kilometers from Volterra, one of Tuscany’s most dramatic hilltop towns. Despite its many attractions, Volterra sees fewer tourists than other Tuscan towns, so you can expect to share its winding stone streets with locals and explore its ancient sites without crowds. Founded by the Etruscans and surrounded by medieval walls, Volterra has a notable historic center filled with fascinating Roman ruins, medieval buildings and alabaster workshops.

In less than two hours by car, you can easily reach Pisa, exceptionally well-known for its Leaning Tower. Moving between its alleys and riversides you will discover architectural jewels such as Santa Maria della Spina, the headquarters of the Scuola Normale Superiore in Piazza dei Cavalieri, the exhibitions of Palazzo Blu and the magnetic charm of Piazza dei Miracoli. Start from the Baptistery and head to the 130-meter Camposanto Monumentale overlooking the square.

The Property

Nestled into the quaint countryside of Chianti, Castello di Panzano boasts its own on-site chapel and bath house. Surrounded by a lush garden, this exclusive villa is ideal for families and groups of friends who want to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside in complete privacy. Offering a tranquil atmosphere between Florence and Siena, Castello di Panzano can accommodate up to eighteen guests in nine suites (ten double bedrooms). The villa’s suites are all outfitted with king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms, and a lounge area.

Offering breathtaking views of the countryside, a beautiful garden surrounds the villa and leads to the heated pool (12 x 8 m; depth: 1,20 to 2,50 m) with roman steps surrounded by a poolside area with comfortable sun loungers inviting guests to sit back and relax. Complete with outdoor kitchen, barbecue, and three generous al fresco dining areas, pool bar with wine fridge and ice machine, the outdoor space represents an idyllic spot for basking in the sun and enjoying wonderful moments of relaxation in the company of a good book.

With spacious interior and exterior lounge areas, and multiple dining venues, Castello di Panzano features all the authentic and elegant charm you would expect from a prestigious Tuscan property. Suite 1 – Garden Villa: This 70-sqm suite features its own garden, king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with stand-alone shower and bathtub, dual vanity, lounge area, television, stereo system, espresso coffee machine, wine fridge, safe box, private outdoor lounge area and private entrance.

Suite 2 – Tower Villa: This 55-sqm suite features king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with stand-alone shower and bathtub, separate living room, television, stereo system, safe box, and a connecting door to Suite 3.

Suite 3 – Tower Villa: This 48-sqm suite features king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with stand-alone shower and bathtub, sitting area, television, safe box, fireplace, kitchenette, and a connecting door to Suite 2.

Suite 4 – Tower Villa: Located on the ground floor, this 33-sqm suite features two connecting bedrooms with king-size beds, two en-suite bathrooms with stand-alone shower and bathtub, dual vanity, lounge area, two televisions, two safe boxes, private outdoor lounge area and private entrance.

Please note that although Suite 4 has two double beds, it is only suitable for two adults. This suite is used for couples who do not wish to sleep in one room, or for families. Therefore, the Suite is not suitable for four adults and for this reason the villa can accommodate up to eighteen guests, not twenty.

Suite 5 – Heritage Villa: This 38-sqm suite features a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with stand-alone shower, dual vanity, separate living room, television, and safe box.

Suite 6 – Heritage Villa: This 45-sqm suite boasts a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with stand-alone shower and bathtub, separate living room, television, safe box.

Suite 7 – Heritage Villa: This 30-sqm suite features king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with stand-alone shower, sitting area, television, and safe box.

Suite 8 – Heritage Villa: This 59-sqm suite features a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with stand-alone shower, dual vanity, separate living room, television, and safe box.

Suite 9 – Spa Suite: This 60-sqm suite features a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with stand-alone shower and bathtub, television, lounge area, safe box, fireplace, and private entrance.

In all suites you will find individually-adjustable air conditioning, heating, flat-screen TVs, music docking stations, Internet access, safes, comfortable 40-cm mattresses and mattress pads, and Egyptian cotton bed linen. In the Bath House you will find hammam and relaxing lounge area. In the fitness room you will find Technogym treadmill, home bike trainer, and bar-bells. Here fitness lovers will be able to keep up with their workout regimen without leaving the comfort of their own villa. Air conditioning is available in every bedroom, in the living room and dining room, kitchen, and in the Bath House (for the SPA treatments).

Castello di Panzano is a fully-staffed villa with a team of a chef, waiter and housekeeper. Please note that the staff lives in an apartment located in the basement of the main villa and they will take care of guests thoughout the stay.
