TORRE DI AMALFI - MAIORI
4 Bedrooms
Location and Surrounding Area
Located near Maiori and featuring terraces with spectacular views of the sea, this four-bedroom villa is the perfect place for those seeking complete privacy and relaxation on one of the most famous stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean. Deemed an outstanding example of a Mediterranean landscape by UNESCO, the Amalfi Coast is one of Italy's most memorable destinations. Here, mountains plunge into the sea in a vertical scene of precipitous crags, cliff-clinging abodes, and verdant woodland.
Maiori's wide stretch of beach covers about a kilometre of coastline in fine, large-grain sand and is the town's top attraction, making it a lively and popular destination. The Amalfi Coast does not have many sandy beaches; the coastline is instead home to countless tiny coves lined with rocks or small beaches with pebbles worn smooth by the waves. The main seafront beach was formed as a result of the catastrophic floods of 1954 that destroyed the historic centre and is located next to the rebuilt modern centre.
Thanks to its enviable geography between the eastern and western parts of the Mediterranean, Amalfi became politically and economically important to the Byzantine Empire and a promoter of Christianity in northern Africa. Tucked between mountains and sea, Amalfi is a town best explored on foot. While Piazza Duomo and the main street are home to most shops and restaurants, spend some time wandering the quieter side streets, where you will find arched passageways, hidden gardens, and tiny piazzas.
Nestled high on a hill above Amalfi, Ravello was founded by the Romans and rose to prominence in the Middle Ages. It earned its reputation as a modern-day Shangri-La by attracting the most gifted artists of each era. Ravello is famous for its ravishing gardens and stupendous views, considered the best in the world according to former resident Gore Vidal. The Ravello Festival is a classical music festival held in the gardens of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, as well as in a fabulous auditorium designed by Oscar Niemeyer.
Conca dei Marini is a pearl on the Amalfi Coast, surrounded by scented lemon orchards and flamboyant flowers. Less renowned than the nearby Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano, this tiny town has impeccably preserved the old charm of a fishing village, with white houses tucked into the rock like precious stones in a sculpted setting. It first made headlines in 1962 when Jacqueline Kennedy, on holiday with her children in Ravello, would depart from Conca dei Marini’s port for waterskiing trips with the Agnelli family.
The villa is also a few kilometres from Vietri sul Mare, a seaside resort exceptionally renowned for its ceramics. The majolica-decorated dome and bell tower of San Giovanni Battista have almost come to symbolise this town overlooking the Bay of Salerno. Cooking utensils, plates, vases, and tiles have been made here since the 1400s. In the mid-18th century, Vietri sul Mare became known as the majolica-makers’ district, a suburb of Cava de’ Tirreni.
Torre di Amalfi is 67 km from Naples Capodichino International Airport and 295 km from Rome Leonardo da Vinci International Airport. Maiori is 1.8 km from the villa, Minori is 3 km, Amalfi is 6 km, Ravello is 10 km, Conca dei Marini is 10 km, Vietri sul Mare is 15 km, Praiano is 19 km, Positano is 22 km, Pompeii is 39 km, Herculaneum is 56 km, and Naples is 63 km. The villa is located near the centre of Maiori, where all necessary services can be easily found.

Please note that two bedrooms (one on the ground floor and one on the upper floor) are inner rooms with opaque windows that cannot be opened.
On request, this double bedroom can be converted into a twin room. In the larger bedroom on the first floor, which has the balcony, you will find a single sofa bed, available on request for an extra guest, at an additional cost.
