Torre Palazzone’s historical character is still visible today in the crenellations crowning the tower and the protective curtain wall enclosing the landscaped courtyard. The tower is the oldest part of the residence and once formed part of a small fortified settlement that gradually evolved over the centuries into a village housing families and their animals. Evidence of this past remains in the ground-floor stables, as well as the mangiatoie, or feeding troughs, preserved in the entrance hall and downstairs reception rooms.
