Villa Acqua is ideally located near the picturesque hillside village of Malfa, one of the most enchanting spots on the island. Among all the Aeolian islands, Salina stands out as the perfect base.

Salina is the green heart of the Aeolian archipelago, known for its verdant hillsides, twin volcanic peaks, and fertile landscapes that produce some of the region’s best capers and Malvasia wine. Less crowded than its neighbours, the island offers an atmosphere of understated elegance and authentic island life. With its crystal-clear waters, charming villages like Malfa and Santa Marina, and scenic walking trails, Salina is a haven for nature lovers and those in search of peace and quiet.

Just across the sea lie Lipari and Vulcano, two of the most accessible and captivating islands in the Aeolian chain. Lipari, the largest of the islands, offers a lively town centre, archaeological sites, and dramatic coastal views, making it ideal for day trips and cultural exploration. Vulcano, with its smouldering crater, black sand beaches, and therapeutic mud baths, is a unique destination where volcanic energy meets seaside relaxation, a must-see for adventurous travellers.

Further afield, Panarea, Stromboli, Filicudi and Alicudi offer contrasting yet equally fascinating experiences. Chic and exclusive, Panarea attracts a stylish crowd with its whitewashed houses, fashionable beach clubs and crystal waters. Stromboli is famous for its active volcano, where guided night hikes offer front-row views of its glowing eruptions. Filicudi and Alicudi, the most remote and tranquil of the group, remain wild and untouched, ideal for those seeking solitude, pristine nature, and timeless island charm.

Villa Acqua is 133 km from Reggio Calabria Airport, 211 km from Catania Fontanarossa Airport, and 298 km from Palermo Falcone Borsellino Airport. The villa is just 500 m from the centre of Malfa, 7 km from Santa Marina Salina, and 10 km from Lingua. Salina is well connected to the nearby Aeolian Islands. Lipari is about 30 minutes away by boat, Vulcano 45 minutes, and Panarea around 50 minutes. Stromboli takes about an hour and a half to reach. Filicudi and Alicudi are at roughly one hour and an hour and a half respectively.

The Property
With breathtaking panoramic views over the Mediterranean Sea, Villa Acqua boasts a fascinating past: once serving as a barracks for the Financial Police and, according to some accounts, previously functioning as a convent. Surrounded by a lush garden filled with fruit trees and flowers, Villa Acqua can accommodate up to 12 guests in three independent suites, each with two double bedrooms, arranged across two floors. Each suite also includes a sitting room with a sofa bed (three sofa beds available at an additional cost).

However lovely the interiors may be, it is the outdoor spaces that are likely to capture your heart during your stay. The garden features a turquoise infinity pool (heated on request, at an extra charge) and a paved poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers, perfect for relaxing while admiring the enchanting views. Offering a serene and intimate atmosphere, the outdoor area also includes a veranda, ideal for quiet moments or romantic al fresco dinners under the stars.

The villa is composed of three beautifully decorated, self-contained suites, sleeping 12 guests in total. Each spacious suite measures approximately 90 square metres and includes two double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one of which is en-suite), and a sitting room with a corner kitchen, providing full culinary independence if desired. Each suite is also equipped with a coffee machine, so you can start your morning with ease. Elegant artwork and whimsical décor lend a romantic charm to every space.

Each suite is unique: one features green and pink tones and boasts a free-standing bathtub; another is distinguished by a writing desk with a captivating view of the island of Panarea. These two suites are located on the upper floor and enjoy direct access to the terrace. The third suite is on the ground floor, with direct access to the veranda and garden. The living room, furnished with designer pieces and avant-garde artwork, leads to a fully equipped kitchen and a dining room, and opens directly onto the outdoor veranda.
