VILLA ACQUAMARINA - AMALFI
4 Bedrooms
Location and Surrounding Area
Located near Maiori and Minori, and featuring a panoramic terrace with spectacular sea views, this bright four-bedroom villa is the perfect retreat for those seeking complete relaxation on one of the most famous stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean. Recognised as an outstanding example of a Mediterranean landscape by UNESCO, the Amalfi Coast is one of Italy's most memorable destinations, where mountains plunge into the sea in a dramatic scene of precipitous cliffs, cliff-clinging homes, and verdant woodlands.
The villa is just a stone’s throw away from Minori, a small town situated in the heart of the Amalfi Coast. Its convenient location makes it an ideal base for exploring the entire coastline and Sorrento Peninsula. The relaxed atmosphere and wide range of services, from restaurants to beach clubs, invite visitors to settle in and stay awhile. Minori exudes the timeless charm of a coastal town, with its picturesque centre filled with colourful lanes and historic fishermen's cottages.
Maiori's expansive beach, stretching about a kilometre of fine, large-grain sand, is the town's main attraction, making it a lively and popular destination. The Amalfi Coast does not boast many sandy beaches; instead, it features countless tiny coves lined with rocks or small beaches with pebbles smoothed by the waves. The main seafront beach was formed as a result of the catastrophic floods of 1954 that destroyed the historic centre and is located next to the rebuilt modern centre.
Thanks to its enviable geography between the eastern and western parts of the Mediterranean, Amalfi became politically and economically significant to the Byzantine Empire and a promoter of Christianity in northern Africa. Tucked between mountains and the sea, Amalfi is a town best explored on foot. While Piazza Duomo and the main street host most shops and restaurants, be sure to spend time wandering the quieter side streets, where you will discover arched passageways, hidden gardens, and tiny piazzas.
Conca dei Marini is a hidden gem along the Amalfi Coast, surrounded by fragrant lemon orchards and vibrant flowers. Less renowned than nearby Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano, this quaint town has impeccably preserved the charm of a fishing village, with white houses nestled into the rock like precious stones in a sculpted landscape. It first gained notoriety in 1962 when Jacqueline Kennedy, holidaying with her children in Ravello, would depart from Conca dei Marini’s port for waterskiing trips with the Agnelli family.
Villa Acquamarina is 68 km from Naples Capodichino International Airport and 295 km from Rome Leonardo da Vinci International Airport. Minori is just 3 km from the villa, while Maiori is also 3 km away. Amalfi is 7 km, Cetara is 9 km, Conca dei Marini is 10 km, Ravello is 11 km, Vietri sul Mare is 15 km, Praiano is 16 km, Positano is 23 km, and Pompeii is 40 km. The villa is conveniently located near the centres of Minori and Maiori, where bars, restaurants, and all necessary services can be easily found.
