VILLA DELLE DAME - SCOPETI
7 Suites
Location and Surrounding Area
Nestled in the peaceful Tuscan countryside, this magnificent, masterfully restored villa is ideally located for exploring the region’s cultural highlights and most spectacular natural wonders. With wonderful views of the surrounding landscape, this exclusive seven-suite property is the perfect base for unforgettable day trips to Tuscany’s most beautiful towns, offering a unique opportunity to admire its splendid scenery while immersing yourself in the region’s incredibly rich historical and cultural heritage.
In just thirty minutes by car, you can reach Florence, a treasure trove of art with a vibrant contemporary atmosphere. Beyond its extraordinary artistic heritage, a testament to centuries of civilisation, the best way to enjoy Florence is to stroll along the riverside avenues at sunset, or lose yourself in the city’s myriad alleyways in the bohemian Oltrarno or the narrow streets of San Niccolò, where you can feel as though you have stepped back in time along the centuries-old walls.
In one hour by car, you can reach San Gimignano, one of Italy’s best-preserved medieval towns. As you crest the nearby hills, the fourteen towers rise like a medieval Manhattan. Today, not even the plague could deter the swarms of summer day-trippers, lured by a palpable sense of history and the enchanting rural setting. The historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and wandering its streets will make you feel as though you’ve travelled back in time.
The villa is also just a few kilometres from the medieval town of Siena. With its ancient red brick buildings, the scallop-shaped Piazza del Campo, and the Cathedral Square dominated by the zebra-striped Duomo, Siena is an absolute must for anyone visiting Tuscany. Essentially an open-air museum celebrating the Gothic, Siena boasts secular monuments that have preserved their medieval forms and exceptional art collections, offering plenty to marvel at.
The property is also just a few kilometres from Volterra, one of Tuscany’s most dramatic hilltop towns. Despite its many attractions, Volterra sees fewer tourists than other Tuscan towns, meaning you can share its winding stone streets with locals and explore its ancient sites without crowds. Founded by the Etruscans and surrounded by medieval walls, Volterra boasts a notable historic centre filled with fascinating Roman ruins, medieval buildings, and alabaster workshops.
Lucca, known as the "city of 100 churches", is also nearby. Hidden behind impressive Renaissance walls, its cobbled streets, delightful squares, and shady promenades make it a perfect destination to explore on foot. At the end of the day, open-air cafés and historic restaurants tempt visitors to relax over a glass of Lucchese wine and a slow progression of dishes prepared with fresh produce from nearby Garfagnana.
Villa delle Dame is 50 km from Florence Amerigo Vespucci International Airport, 117 km from Pisa Galileo Galilei International Airport, and 114 km from Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport. Florence is 32 km away, Greve in Chianti is 49 km, Arezzo is 77 km, San Gimignano is 80 km, Siena is 99 km, Volterra is 103 km, Montepulciano is 111 km, Lucca is 113 km, Pienza is 123 km, Pisa is 124 km, and Perugia is 127 km.
