Tucked between mountains and sea, Amalfi is a town best explored on foot. While Piazza Duomo and the main street are home to most of the town’s shops and restaurants, do spend some time wandering and exploring the quieter side streets, where you will find arched passageways, hidden gardens, and tiny piazzas. The villa is also just a few kilometres from Maiori, which resembles an amphitheatre at the end of the Tramonti valley. Founded in the 9th century and rebuilt after a flood in 1954, today Maiori is a modern town.
