Full description

Villa Romana - Sorrento - Sorrento Coast

4 Bedrooms - Heated Jacuzzi

Location and Surrounding Area. Located in the heart of Sorrento, this elegant four-bedroom villa is the perfect place for a stylish break on one of the most famous stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean. With a spectacular cliff-top setting facing Mount Vesuvius across the Bay of Naples, it is no wonder the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento are must-visit destinations on everyone's bucket list. The ancient town center is laid out on a Roman grid of narrow lanes, now lined with exclusive restaurants serving gnocchi and shops selling lemon-themed souvenirs.

But away from the well-worn paths are little-explored nooks and crannies. The vaulted Sedile Dominova, once a meeting space for aristocracy, is now a working-men's club where old-timers while away afternoons playing cards. Then there are traditional greengrocers and haberdashers huddled behind wooden shop fronts, the medieval palaces along Via Pietà, the magnificent courtyard of Palazzo Correale, and artisan workshops producing the same wood intarsia for which the town became famous in the 18th century.

If Sorrento gets too much, the laid-back town of Vico Equense, which stands on a sheer tufa cliff just along the coast, makes an attractive base. Beach bums tend to head for the small pockets of sand tucked into coves at Marina di Vico and Marina d'Aequa, walkers tackle the old footpath to Positano, clinging to the cliffs on the Amalfi coastline, and culture hounds hop on the Circumvesuviana train to march around the archeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, destroyed by the eruption of the volcano.

Set in the hills just below the ridge that divides Sorrento from the sheer southern coastline lies the village of Sant'Agata Sui Due Golfi, named for its domination of the gulfs of both Naples and Salerno. To the west and south-west of Sorrento is a hilly hinterland, the sprawling Massa Lubrense, and a wild stretch of coast that developers have left untouched. The Massa Lubrense is home to hamlets and ancient look-out towers, a reminder of repeated invasions over the centuries, surrounded by citrus and olive groves.

Villa Romana is 51 km from Naples Capodichino International Airport and 279 km from Rome Leonardo da Vinci International Airport. Vico Equense is 10 km from the villa, Sant’Agata Sui Due Golfi 11 km, Nerano is 16 km, Positano is 17 km, Pompeii is 25 km, Amalfi is 31 km, Herculaneum is 41 km, and Naples is 48 km. The villa is located in the center of Sorrento, where all the necessary services can be easily found.

The Property. Located in Sorrento, Villa Romana boasts idyllic balconies and a generous terrace overlooking the Vesuvius and the glittering Bay of Naples, providing a perfect hideaway in one of the most romantic corners on the Amalfi Coast. Trapped between an infinite blue sky and azure sea, the spectacular cliff-top setting of the villa ensures superb panoramas. Offering an elegant atmosphere, Villa Romana can accommodate up to eight guests plus one guest featuring four double bedrooms, one single bed, and four bathrooms spread over two floors.

Surrounded by a lush garden, the villa boasts a magnificent terrace complete with heated Jacuzzi and a generous sunbathing area equipped with comfortable sun loungers inviting guests to sit back and unwind. The terrace also features an exceptional al fresco dining area with barbecue in the shade of a pergola and a lounge area for relaxing and socializing. Offering a calm atmosphere and unparalleled views of the Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples, the terrace is the perfect setting for romantic dinners and stargazing.

Flooded with light, the ground floor of the villa boasts an exceptional dining room with fireplace and a fully-equipped kitchen featuring all the amenities you might need during your stay. As the evening falls, gather around the fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine with your fellow guests. The ground floor also houses a spacious bedroom with queen-size and two bathrooms with shower. One of the bathrooms is en-suite. The other bathroom is located near the kitchen. In this bedroom, a single bed can be added on request (included) for a ninth guest. On the same floor you will also find a comfortable study corner complete with laptop.

Accessed by a short flight of steps, the first floor features a generous and light-filled living space furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs with plenty of seating, and a balcony offering wonderful views of the sea. On the same floor you will also find three spacious double bedrooms and two large bathrooms with shower. Each bedroom is adorned with fine fabrics and features flat-screen TV with satellite channels and walk-in closet. Two of the rooms also feature a private balcony overlooking the sea. Two of these bedrooms have a queen-size bed, while the third one has a king-size bed. Villa Romana also features an affiliated parking lot for the villa’s guests.
