Location and Surrounding Area
Located near the heart of Positano, this elegant villa is the perfect place for a stylish break on one of the most famous stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean. Villa Barocca features a spacious panoramic terrace and sweeping views of the sea, providing the ultimate retreat on the Amalfi Coast. The Sorrentine Peninsula juts into the sea like a pointing finger, its rugged shores sprinkled with some of Italy’s most spectacular beaches, its bucolic interior moulded by the limestone Monti Lattari.

The sight of Positano from a distance is breathtaking. Colour is everywhere, reflecting on the tranquil sea, the silvery pebbled beach, and the gleaming Majolica-domed church of Santa Maria Assunta. The houses built up from the waterside, accessible to one another via an endless array of steep stairs, boast pale sorbet colors. In the summer, when the serried ranks of sunbeds fill up quickly, take a boat to explore the many small coves up and down the coast.

The centre of Sorrento is laid out on a Roman grid of narrow lanes, now lined with restaurants serving pasta and shops selling souvenirs. But away from the well-worn paths are little-explored nooks and crannies. Then there are traditional greengrocers and haberdashers huddled behind wooden shop fronts, the mediaeval palaces along Via Pietà, the magnificent courtyard of Palazzo Correale, and artisan workshops producing the same wood intarsia for which the town became famous in the 18th century.

There's a lot to be said for leaving the best until last, and for many, Ravello is the jewel in the coastal crown. If Positano is the glamour-puss of the Amalfi Coast, Ravello is its refined, aristocratic cousin. Nestled high on a hill above the sea, Ravello is famous for its secluded villas, ravishing gardens, magnificent views, and romantic sense of faded glory, which have inspired a steady stream of writers, artists, and musicians since the days of the Grand Tour.

Conca dei Marini is 16 km from the villa, Sorrento is 16 km, Amalfi is 18 km, Vico Equense is 20 km, Nerano is 21 km, Ravello is 22 km, Maiori is 23 km, Pompeii is 35 km, Herculaneum is 51 km, and Naples is 57 km. The villa is a ten-minute walk from the centre of Positano, where all the necessary services can be easily found.

The Property
Located in the picturesque hilltop town of Positano, Villa Barocca boasts a generous, fully-furnished terrace and expansive panoramic views, providing the ultimate retreat in one of the most evocative corners on the Amalfi Coast. Trapped between an infinite blue sky and an azure sea, the spectacular clifftop setting of the villa ensures superb panoramas. Offering an impressive sense of elegance, Villa Barocca can accommodate up to sixteen guests in eight double bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom spread over four floors (plus up to eight extra guests in two family suites; extra, on request).

With spectacular views of the town below and the crystal-clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, this historic villa boasts generous terraces for basking in the sun and enjoying the orange-scented breeze. Offering a calm atmosphere, the villa features an al fresco dining area and a comfortable lounge area for relaxing and socializing. Surrounded by a manicured garden, the villa also boasts an exceptional infinity pool and a generous poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers, inviting guests to sit back and unwind.

Flooded with light, the ground floor of the villa boasts a fully-equipped kitchen with a pizza oven and all the amenities you might need during your stay, a spacious dining room with a large dining table, and a bright living area with comfortable sofas and armchairs with plenty of seating. On the ground floor, you will also find two guest bathrooms. The garden and the pool area are accessible from this level and are the perfect retreat to sunbathe or just sip a cocktail while enjoying the sea breeze.

The upper floor houses four generous double bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom with shower and direct access to the terrace. Each bedroom boasts wonderful views of the sea. On the lower floor of the villa, you will find four comfortable double bedrooms, each with a large en-suite bathroom with a shower, spectacular views of the sea, and direct access to a private terrace. On the top floor of the villa (the attic), which is available on request at an additional cost, you will find two spacious family suites, each with two double bedrooms (total number of extra guests: up to 8 extra guests), a sitting corner and a large en-suite bathroom with a shower.

Offering an elegant atmosphere, each bedroom is adorned with fine fabrics and antique furnishings and features a minibar, safe, air conditioning, and heating. The villa is approximately 150 steps from the street level. However, from 2024, a lift will take you from street level to the garden gate of the villa. Guests will be welcomed in front of the entrance of the lift and will easily reach the villa with zero steps. The lift will work from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm.
