Location and Surrounding Area
Located near the heart of Positano, this elegant villa is the perfect place for a stylish break on one of the most famous stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean. Villa Barocca features a spacious panoramic terrace and sweeping views of the sea, providing the ultimate retreat on the Amalfi Coast. The Sorrentine Peninsula juts into the sea like a pointing finger, its rugged shores sprinkled with some of Italy’s most spectacular beaches, and its bucolic interior moulded by the limestone Monti Lattari.

The sight of Positano from a distance is breathtaking. Colour is everywhere, reflecting on the tranquil sea, the silvery pebbled beach, and the gleaming Majolica-domed church of Santa Maria Assunta. The houses, built up from the waterside and accessible to one another via an endless array of steep stairs, boast pale sorbet colours. In the summer, when the serried ranks of sunbeds fill up quickly, take a boat to explore the many small coves along the coast.

The centre of Sorrento is laid out on a Roman grid of narrow lanes, now lined with restaurants serving pasta and shops selling souvenirs. However, away from the well-worn paths, you can discover little-explored nooks and crannies, traditional greengrocers, and haberdashers huddled behind wooden shop fronts, the medieval palaces along Via Pietà, the magnificent courtyard of Palazzo Correale, and artisan workshops producing the same wood intarsia for which the town became famous in the 18th century.

There's much to be said for leaving the best until last, and for many, Ravello is the jewel in the coastal crown. If Positano is the glamour-puss of the Amalfi Coast, Ravello is its refined, aristocratic cousin. Nestled high on a hill above the sea, Ravello is famous for its secluded villas, ravishing gardens, magnificent views, and a romantic sense of faded glory, which have inspired a steady stream of writers, artists, and musicians since the days of the Grand Tour.

Conca dei Marini is 16 km from the villa, Sorrento is 16 km, Amalfi is 18 km, Vico Equense is 20 km, Nerano is 21 km, Ravello is 22 km, Maiori is 23 km, Pompeii is 35 km, Herculaneum is 51 km, and Naples is 57 km. The villa is a ten-minute walk from the centre of Positano, where all the necessary services can be easily found.

The Property
Located in the picturesque hilltop town of Positano, Villa Barocca boasts a generous, fully furnished terrace and expansive panoramic views, providing the ultimate retreat in one of the most evocative corners of the Amalfi Coast. Trapped between an infinite blue sky and azure sea, the spectacular clifftop setting of the villa ensures superb panoramas. Offering an impressive sense of elegance, Villa Barocca can accommodate up to sixteen guests in eight double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms spread over four floors (plus up to eight additional guests in two family suites, available on request).

With spectacular views of the town below and the crystal-clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, this historic villa features generous terraces for basking in the sun and enjoying the orange-scented breeze. Offering a calm atmosphere, the villa includes an al fresco dining area and a comfortable lounge area for relaxing and socialising. Surrounded by a manicured garden, the villa also boasts an exceptional infinity pool and a generous poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers, inviting guests to sit back and unwind.

Flooded with light, the ground floor of the villa includes a fully equipped kitchen with a pizza oven and all the amenities you might need during your stay, a spacious dining room with a large dining table, and a bright living area with comfortable sofas and armchairs, providing ample seating. On the ground floor, you will also find two guest bathrooms. The garden and pool area are accessible from this level and serve as the perfect retreat to sunbathe or sip a cocktail while enjoying the sea breeze.

The upper floor houses four generous double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom featuring a shower and direct access to the terrace. Each bedroom boasts wonderful views of the sea. On the lower floor of the villa, there are four comfortable double bedrooms, each with a large en-suite bathroom with a shower, spectacular sea views, and direct access to a private terrace. The top floor of the villa (the attic), available on request at an additional cost, features two spacious family suites, each with two double bedrooms (total number of extra guests: up to eight additional guests), a sitting area, and a large en-suite bathroom with a shower.

Offering an elegant atmosphere, each bedroom is adorned with fine fabrics and antique furnishings and includes a minibar, safe, air conditioning, and heating. The villa is approximately 150 steps from the street level; however, from 2024, a lift will take you from street level to the garden gate of the villa. Guests will be welcomed in front of the entrance of the lift and will easily reach the villa with zero steps. The lift will operate from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm.
