The nearby town of Nardò is famous for its historical buildings. This gorgeous little town features signs of human settlement since the Paleolithic era and the wall carvings in the Baia Uluzzo Cave are some of the first examples of figurative art in Europe. The lovely historical center has the famous Piazza Salandra as its beating heart. The buildings circling the piazza are gems of baroque and ancient architecture so as you sip your cappuccino, you can gaze around in awe at the spectacular surroundings.

In just twenty minutes by car, you can reach Gallipoli, whose name means “beautiful city”. The port has established it as a maritime town for centuries and it still has an active fishing trade. It was a trade port with ties to Orient, as seen in some decorations and touches around the town. The elegant old center hints at its once important past. The beaches are known throughout Italy as some of the cleanest around, with colorful rows of umbrellas and bright seafront bars and restaurants decorating them in the summer.

Porto Cesareo sits on a prestigious part of the Ionian coast, enjoying a long stretch of beach and sparkling clean seas. Bequeathed with baroque buildings by its 17th-century architects, the city of Lecce has a completeness and homogeneity that other southern Italian metropolises lack. Indeed, so distinctive is Lecce’s architecture that it has acquired its own moniker, Lecce baroque, an expressive and decorative incarnation of the genre replete with gargoyles, asparagus columns and cavorting gremlins. Swooning 18th-century traveler Thomas Ashe thought it “the most beautiful city in Italy”.

Offering a tranquil atmosphere, this exclusive property boasts an exceptional pool with plenty of furnished, poolside space around to top up your Italian-style suntan. The poolside area is perfect for basking in the sun and enjoying wonderful moments of relaxation in the company of a good book and a glass of prosecco. Surrounded by olive groves, the outdoor area is the place to be. And if all that is not enough, the recently-created SPA center features a gym with high-quality equipment, and a massage area.

Masseria Leccese even has its own restaurant serving exquisitely fresh local products and a healthy serving of seasonal vegetables from the vegetable garden. The Chef delights in preparing a traditional cuisine with a personal twist, which will give you a taste of the wonders of the food and wine from Puglia. The masseria boasts thirteen bedrooms: you will find eight rooms on the ground floor and five rooms on the upper floor. All bedrooms have their own en-suite bathroom with shower. However, one of the rooms on the ground floor (which can be converted into a twin room) features a bathroom with both shower and tub. In the private outdoor area of each room, you will find an exclusive Kos Zucchetti hot tub. On the upper floor you will find five double bedrooms, each featuring a private hot tub in the living area.
