Location and Surrounding Area. Standing on the shore of Lake Maggiore at Premeno, this elegant nine-bedroom villa is the perfect place for a relaxing break by one of Italy’s most romantic lakes, home to the bewitching Borromean Islands. Stresa is one of the loveliest and most historic towns by the lake, set on a shore bordered by luxuriant gardens. With its cascade of grand Art Nouveau hotels and Neo-Classical villas, it is no wonder that Stresa has been a popular holiday destination since the late 19th century.

Forming Lake Maggiore’s most beautiful corner, the Borromean Islands add a delightful touch of natural beauty and historic interest. The most famous is Isola Bella, a strip of rocky land where, during the 17th century, a lovely palace surrounded by spectacular terraced gardens roamed by peacocks was built. A tour of the palace takes you through a series of rooms decorated with canvases by famous Baroque painters, as well as fine furniture, sculptures and Flemish tapestries.

With narrow streets and tall houses with long balconies used for drying fish, Isola Superiore, also known as Fishermen’s Island, retains much of its original fishing-village atmosphere. Many visitors make it their port of call for lunch, but stay overnight and you will fall in love with the place. The largest of the islands, Isola Madre, boasts a beautiful botanical garden in which peacocks, parrots and pheasants roam freely, and a 17th-century palace built by the Borromeo princes.

The villa is just a few kilometers from Verbania, the biggest town on Lake Maggiore, which makes a good base for exploring the west bank. The town is strung out along the lakeshore and consists of three districts. Verbania Pallanza, the middle chunk, with a pretty waterfront and a ferry stop, is the most interesting one. Nicely set apart from the busier towns to the north and south, Cannobio, with its cobblestone streets, is a dreamy place that makes for a charming lake base.

Villa Karin is 81 km from Milano Malpensa Airport and 135 km from Milano Linate Airport. Verbania is 13 km from the villa, Pallanza is 14 km, Oggebbio is 19 km, Isola Superiore is 26 km, Stresa is 27 km, Isola Bella is 27 km, Cannobio is 30 km, Arona is 53 km, and Locarno is 101 km. The villa is located in the town of Premeno, where all the necessary services can be easily found.

The Property. Set in a lush garden with sweeping views of the calm waters of Lake Maggiore, Villa Karin provides the perfect retreat for those seeking complete privacy and relaxation in one of the most evocative corners in Northern Italy. Built in the 1930s, this magnificent villa has been recently renovated while preserving the atmosphere of a traditional Italian home. Offering an elegant atmosphere, the villa can accommodate up to sixteen guests featuring nine double bedrooms and seven bathrooms spread over four levels.

Located on the shores of the lake, the villa boasts an exceptional infinity pool (10x4 meters) and a spacious sundeck equipped with sun loungers inviting guests to sit back and unwind while enjoying the charming panorama. Offering a peaceful atmosphere, the sundeck represents an idyllic spot for basking in the sun and enjoying wonderful moments of relaxation in the company of a good book and a glass of prosecco. The garden also features a generous al fresco dining area with barbecue for more refined occasions.

Accessed from the patio, the ground floor boasts a generous living room featuring comfortable sofas with plenty of seating and a spacious dining room with a large table. On the same floor you will also find a modern fully-equipped kitchen with direct access to the outdoor dining patio and with all the amenities you might need during your stay. The ground floor also houses a comfortable study and a half bathroom.

Accessed by an majestic staircase, the first floor boasts a spacious double bedroom with private balcony and en-suite bathroom with bathtub offering the ultimate blend of style and comfort. On the same floor you will also find a generous double bedroom featuring private balcony and private bathroom complete with shower, a comfortable double bedroom with private balcony, a light-filled double bedroom and a large bathroom with shower. These two bedrooms are connected by an elegant glazed corridor.

The second floor houses four comfortable double bedrooms with exposed beams and wooden floors, an exceptional bathroom with shower and an exclusive bathroom complete with bathtub and shower. On the lower ground floor of the villa you will find a generous suite with comfortable king-size bed and private bathroom with shower. On the same floor you will also find a wellness area including a sauna, a Jacuzzi, a bathroom with shower and an exclusive gym complete with the fitness equipment.

Villa Karin features wireless Internet access, heating, and a laundry room complete with washing machine and dryer. In five bedrooms, the beds can be separated into twin beds. Please note that the villa can accommodate up to sixteen guests. Additional guests can be accommodated on request.

Retention time
