Location and Surrounding Area. Villa Clio is set on the exclusive western shores of Lake Como with breathtaking views that reach as far as the twinkling lights of Bellagio on the other side of the water. It is a five minute walk into the lakeside hamlet of Lenno, which dates back to Roman times. Here you'll find plenty of lakeside cafés, excellent restaurants for an evening splurge plus a wealth of historical buildings to see. We particularly recommend a visit to Villa Balbianello and the Acquafredda Abbey. Lenno is part of the famous Greenway walk along the lake, which at times follows the Antica Via Regina. This old Roman road was once upon a time used by the ancient pilgrims on their way to Rome.

Lake Como has been an elite destination since the times of the Roman Empire and its glamorous inhabitants, cool blue water, wooded hillsides and dramatic Alpine backdrop ensure that the visitors keep on coming. Bellagio is a captivating boat trip across the water. It is known locally as La Perla del Lago (the pearl of the lake) for its outstanding beauty, quality restaurants, local trattorias, chic shopping and of course the famous Italian, homemade gelato ice cream.

Nearby Menaggio is where the action is if you fancy meeting up with visitors from all over the world. The town centre is full of exclusive boutiques and traditional craft shops with a plethora of pretty piazzas for sipping a coffee and pointing out celebrities. The old town is marvellously medieval and you can take a walk along the enormous walls that once bordered the ancient castle.

For the walkers, there is a funicular from the town of Como up to the village of Brunate, 700 metres above Como and starting point for some spectacular walking tracks and superb views of the Alps. Como is also famous for its silk and you can see the full silk-making process or just sit in the lively piazzas and watch the world go by.

There is plenty to do on the waters of Lake Como. A whole host of water sports are available and it's easy to spend an entire day sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, water skiing and kite surfing. There are water skiing schools in Lezzano, a hydro-plane school for pilots in the town of Como and three sailing schools in Dervio.

Villa Clio is 5 minute walk from Lenno, 2 km from Tremezzo, 35 km from Como and 80 km  from the chic city of Milan. The nearest international airports are Milan's Malpensa and Linate, both about 80 km from the property. Lugano airport is only 35 km away.

The Property. This stunning, contemporary property was designed by Claudia Kempen (CKC) and offers 800 m2 of light-filled living space with high quality furniture and furnishings. The rooms all feature superb views and you can see as far as the twinkling lights of Bellagio as you relax with an evening aperitif on the terrace. The villa sleeps up to 12 guests in six double bedrooms, each one with a luxurious en suite bathroom. There are five different indoor and outdoor lounge areas, which ensure that everyone has plenty of personal space and yet offers the possibility to spend fun times together as a group. There is a professional standard, sleek, modern kitchen with a double-door fridge freezer, microwave, oven and hob. The handy central island will give the budding chefs amongst you the opportunity to rustle up some delicious local dishes, which can be eaten either in the more formal, indoor dining area or outside on the sun-drenched patio with Lake Como as a backdrop. Or otherwise there is a barbecue for grilling up some steaks under the stars.

When you tire of sightseeing and fancy a day curled up in comfort, why not spend the afternoon in the cinema room or brush up your snooker technique on the table at home?

The infinity swimming pool stretches out from the front of the house and gives the impression of flowing straight into the lake. The poolside area is fully furnished with sunbeds and umbrellas to top up your Italian-style suntan.
