In less than one hour by car, you can reach Florence, a treasure trove of art with an astonishing contemporary vibe. Beyond the extraordinary artistic heritage, the best way to enjoy Florence is to stroll along the riverside avenues at sunset or to get lost among the city’s alleyways of the Oltrarno. In just one hour by car, you can easily reach Siena, the medieval walled city famous for the twice annual Palio horse race. You could spend hours wandering through the warren-like maze of streets that branch out from Piazza del Campo, the shell-shaped public square crowned by an iconic bell tower.

In just one hour by car, you can also reach San Gimignano, one of Italy’s best-preserved medieval villages. The historic center was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, and strolling through the cobblestoned streets will make you feel like you have stepped back in time. For beautiful bowls, vases, and other decorative items made of alabaster, head to Volterra: the town is known for its alabaster workshops, like Rossi Alabastri, which you can visit to learn more about the craft. Wandering around the historic center, you will find plenty of shops selling items made with this translucent stone.

In less than two hours by car, you can reach Chianciano Terme, one of Tuscany’s largest thermal baths. The Chianciano thermal area has five springs, with waters of differing mineral compositions and temperatures, suited for different treatments. If you are not here for the waters, probably the most interesting part of Chianciano is the old town, which lies to the north. In less than two hours by car, you can reach Pisa, famous for its iconic Leaning Tower. The main sights are located in Piazza Del Duomo, also known as Piazza dei Miracoli, which comprises the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Camposanto Monumentale and the Bell Tower.

The Property
Set in the heart of the estate, L’Orto del Chianti is a farmhouse surrounded by greenery, on the silent banks of the Greve River. Surrounded by a simple and lush garden, the charming stone hamlet is ideal for families and groups of friends who want to enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside in complete privacy. Offering a calm atmosphere, L’Orto del Chianti can accommodate up to eighteen guests in nine double bedrooms spread over four separate houses with their own independent access.

Offering a tranquil atmosphere, the property is immersed in a generous and linear garden with apple and poplar trees, tall bay leaf, holm oaks and linden trees. A beautiful green field surrounds the four independent stone farmhouses and leads to the exclusive pool surrounded by a generous poolside area, which represents an idyllic spot for basking in the sun and enjoying wonderful moments of relaxation in the company of a good book and a glass of prosecco.

Farmhouse 1 (2 Double Bedrooms):
This farmhouse was the sharecroppers’ house where they would meet up after a day working in the fields. Surrounded by a generous garden, today it is just as homely and welcoming as ever. The entrance hall leads into a spacious, bright kitchen which opens onto an outdoor veranda and a lovely living room with its own stone fireplace. On the ground floor, you will also find a guest bathroom. On the first floor, you will find two double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom, one with shower and one with bathtub.

Farmhouse 2 (2 Double Bedrooms):
Farm-style furnishing and a splash of color welcome you into the lovely green lounge area, a few steps from a cozy, comfortable and well-equipped kitchen. Offering a warm and calm atmosphere, the stairway leads to the top floor, where you will find two comfortable double bedrooms, each complete with its own en-suite bathroom, one with shower and one with bathtub.

Barn 1 (2 Double Bedrooms):
A beautiful glass sliding door invites you into a generous dining room with antique Tuscan furniture. Next to the fully-equipped kitchen, the bright lounge area looks out onto the garden. On the ground floor you will find a laundry room and a bathroom with shower, while on the upper floor there are two double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, one with shower and one with bathtub with shower wand.

Barn 2 (3 Double Bedrooms):
Velvet sofas and an exceptional marble fireplace await you in the open-plan lounge and kitchen area of this charming house. On the ground floor there is a comfortable double bedroom with private bathroom featuring bathtub with shower wand, while upstairs you will find two generous double bedrooms sharing a bathroom complete with tub with shower wand.
