In less than one hour by car, you can easily reach Siena, the medieval walled city famous for the twice annual Palio horse race. You could spend hours wandering through the warren-like maze of streets that branch out from Piazza del Campo, the shell-shaped public square crowned by an iconic bell tower. In just one hour by car, you can reach Florence, a treasure trove of art with an astonishing contemporary vibe. Beyond the extraordinary artistic heritage, the best way to enjoy Florence is to stroll along the riverside avenues at sunset or to get lost among the city’s alleyways of the Oltrarno.

In just one hour by car, you can also reach San Gimignano, one of Italy’s best-preserved medieval villages. The historic center was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, and strolling through the cobblestoned streets will make you feel like you have stepped back in time. For beautiful bowls, vases, and other decorative items made of alabaster, head to Volterra: the town is known for its alabaster workshops, like Rossi Alabastri, which you can visit to learn more about the craft. Wandering around the historic center, you will find plenty of shops selling items made with this translucent stone.

In less than two hours by car, you can reach Chianciano Terme, one of Tuscany’s largest thermal baths. The Chianciano thermal area has five springs, with waters of differing mineral compositions and temperatures, suited for different treatments. If you are not here for the waters, probably the most interesting part of Chianciano is the old town, which lies to the north. In less than two hours by car, you can reach Pisa, famous for its iconic Leaning Tower. The main sights are located in Piazza Del Duomo, also known as Piazza dei Miracoli, which comprises the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Camposanto Monumentale and the Bell Tower.

The Property
Nestled within a lavish woodland, olive groves and vineyards, Il Casale del Chianti offers a perfect country escape for those seeking complete privacy and relaxation in the heart of Tuscany. Its unspoiled location, set between Greve and Panzano in Chianti, each 10-minute drive away, makes this splendid farmhouse the perfect choice for those wishing to explore Tuscany and all that it has to offer. Il Casale del Chianti can accommodate up to eighteen guests in nine bedrooms spread over two separate houses: six bedrooms the Main Villa (plus three guests in three single beds in the Main Villa) and three bedrooms in the Barn.

From Il Casale del Chianti, a myriad of paths crisscrosses the garden, winding past strawberry trees, rosemary bushes and scented jasmines and lead to a lovely infinity pool overlooking the olive groves and a generous poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers inviting guests to sit back and unwind while enjoying the charming panorama. Offering a tranquil atmosphere, the poolside area represents an idyllic spot for basking in the sun and enjoying wonderful moments of relaxation in the company of a good book.

Main Villa:
A distinctive contemporary design, with natural color schemes and Italian designer furniture, is combined with typical elements of traditional Tuscan farmhouses. The ground floor of the Main Villa boasts a living room, a fully-equipped kitchen with all the amenities you might need during your stay and a guest bathroom. On the ground floor of the Main Villa you will also find two bright suites, which are wheelchair accessible, with comfortable king-size double bed and bathroom with shower. One of them also has a private garden.

On the first floor of the Main Villa you will find two suites with king-size beds and bathroom with tub. Here you will also find a family suite with a double bed and a comfortable single bed on a mezzanine level. On the same floor you will also find a generous family suite with a king-size bed, two single beds, and bathroom with tub. The family suite sits in the tower of the farmhouse, with a wonderful panoramic view over the surrounding vineyards. Ideal for a family with children, the family suite is just a few steps from the infinity pool and furnished in a contemporary style.

In each room, a mini-library of illustrated books and objects d’art by Florentine ceramic designer Bitossi add a feeling of comfort. Striking wall art by Simone Boni, showing the nine neighbourhoods of medieval Florence makes each room unique.

Barn:
The barn boasts three suites with king-size bed and bathroom with shower. The suites have a delightful private garden where guests can sit and enjoy the sunset with an excellent glass of wine. On request, the double king-size beds can be converted into comfortable twin beds.

The guests can show off their cooking skills in the well-equipped kitchen before settling down in the dining room to enjoy their meal and discuss plans for the days ahead. The spacious living room is the perfect place for entertaining, relaxing, and spending time with the loved ones. The covered terrace, shaded by olives and an ancient mulberry tree, is the perfect space to indulge in some pleasant summer reading or enjoy the panoramic view over the valley.
