Villa La Morra
Umbria - Morra
Villa La Morra – Perugia Area - Umbria
4 Bedrooms – Pool
Villa La Morra is a sublimely beautiful farmhouse that has been elegantly restored in true Italian style. It is secluded in the hills that straddle Umbria and Tuscany, between the small medieval cities of Arezzo and Perugia and within easy reach of Lake Trasimeno.
The Villa itself offers relaxing spa treatments, Turkish Hammam, truffle hunting expeditions, wine tasting and wine tours, cookery classes with top quality chefs, tennis, golf, cycling, horse-riding and walking.
Perugia is an enchanting university city famous for its art, culture, summer jazz festival and chocolate! Perugia was home to the painter Pietro Vannuci, known as Perugino and teacher to Raphael the great Renaissance artist. Vannuci's frescoes still decorate the Sala del Cambio and there are various paintings in the National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia.
Lake Trasimeno is the fourth largest lake in Italy and is a natural paradise inhabited by kingfishers, wild ducks, cormorants and kites. With its splendid backdrop of woodland, fields of sunflowers, vineyards and olive groves, you can walk, cycle or horse-ride for miles along the paths and tracks skirting the water. There are three small islands in the lake, Isola Polvese, Isola Maggiore and Isola Minore and only Isola Maggiore is inhabited. There are plenty of beautiful castles to explore around Lake Trasimeno and the Lake itself hosts water-skiing, kite-surfing and sailing.
Villa La Morra makes an ideal retreat for sports enthusiasts, families or small groups wishing to either just relax and be pampered or explore the splendours of the area.
The nearest international airports are Perugia (50 km), Florence (150 km) and Fiumicino airport near Rome (250 km). Lake Trasimeno, Perugia and Arezzo are 50 km away and Siena 90 km.
