In less than one hour by car, you can reach the town of Taormina, one of Sicily’s most celebrated tourist destinations.

One of the main pleasures of Taormina is wandering around Corso Umberto I, the narrow street that crosses the full width of the town. Taormina is well-known for its antiques and handicrafts, but there are also chic boutiques galore as well as delicatessens crammed with delicious local produce. Here, retail therapy can be combined with some of the most splendid vistas in the world. The most striking sight in Taormina is the site of Greek Theater, with views of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea.

Taormina is undoubtedly a jewel of the Ionian coast, and its many facets dazzle visitors like the sunlight on its clear blue waters. The easiest way to reach Taormina’s beach is by cable car, but you can also walk down the long flight of steps from the center. Take the cable car down to the sea for magnificent walks along the coast, to the cove dominated by the tiny Isola Bella, today a World Wide Fund for Nature Reserve, or to Spisone, with its lovely sandy beach.

In less than one hour by car, you can also reach Catania, which was destroyed by the Etna eruption in 1693. The 18th-century rebuilding created imposing Baroque edifices, set on broad, straight streets and unevenly shaped squares, a precaution against earthquakes. Via Etna slices through Catania, with Etna rising at one end. At the other end is Piazza Duomo, a large pedestrianized space with a lava monument of an elephant, Catania’s emblem, in its center.

The villa is 8 km from Giarre, 9 km Fondachello, 30 km from Taormina, 35 km from Catania, 33 km from the Etna Park, and 100 km from Siracusa. The villa is 3,3 km from the center of Nunziata, where all the necessary services can be easily found.

The Property. Set in a beautiful garden with spectacular views of the Ionian Sea, Villa Virginia provides the perfect retreat for those seeking complete privacy and relaxation in one of the most evocative corners in Southern Italy. Built in the late 19th century, this magnificent villa has been masterfully renovated while preserving the atmosphere of a traditional Italian home. Offering an elegant atmosphere, the villa can accommodate twelve guests in six bedrooms with en-suite bathroom spread over three floors. The villa can sleep two additional guests (+2) in a double sofa bed in the family room’s living room.

With a generous terrace overlooking the sea, this magnificent villa boasts an exceptional salt-water infinity pool and a spacious sundeck equipped with comfortable sun loungers inviting guests to sit back and unwind while enjoying the charming panorama. The sundeck represents an idyllic spot for basking in the sun and enjoying wonderful moments of relaxation in the company of a good book. The garden also features a generous clementine grove. About 10 meters from the pool you will find an exclusive hot tub (please note that the hot tub is open from the beginning of April to the end of October).

The first floor of the villa boasts a generous living room featuring comfortable sofas with plenty of seating, a spacious dining room and a modern fully-equipped kitchen. As the evening falls, relax with a glass of local wine while you listen to the wood fire crackling. The first floor also boasts a generous terrace with al fresco dining area with barbecue. On the same floor you will also find a master bedroom with canopy bed (king-size bed), fireplace and en-suite bathroom complete with shower and Turkish bath. The second floor features a bright double bedroom with large wrought-iron bed (king-size bed), charming views over the garden and en-suite bathroom with shower.

Accessed from the outdoor area, the ground floor boasts: a spacious family double bedroom featuring living room with double sofa bed (for two extra guests) and en-suite bathroom with shower; one large double bedroom (king-size bed) featuring en-suite bathroom with shower; two comfortable twin rooms (which can be converted into double bedrooms) with en-suite bathroom with shower;

Villa Virginia features satellite Internet access and air conditioning in all bedrooms. You will also find minibar, coffee and tea making facilities, safe, hair dryer and telephone in each bedroom. The villa can comfortably accommodate twelve guests plus two additional guests in the double sofa bed in the family room’s living room.
