Villa Violante is just a stone’s throw away from Buonconvento, one of the most beautiful medieval villages of Italy: located where the rivers Arbia and Ombrone converge, it has been for centuries a stop for travelers along the Via Francigena, and it is also part of the area known as Crete Senesi. The property is also a few kilometers from Montalcino: globally known as the home of one of the world’s greatest wines, Brunello di Montalcino, the attractive hilltop town of Montalcino has a remarkable number of "enoteche" lining its medieval streets and it is surrounded by hugely picturesque wineyards.

In less than one hour by car, you can easily reach Siena, Italy’s loveliest medieval town, whose heart is represented by the magnificent Piazza del Campo, scene of the lively Palio horse race, which is held twice a year in July and August. The Campo is dominated by the Palazzo Pubblico and its Torre del Mangia, from which it is possible to admire the view of the town. The villa is also a few kilometers from Montepulciano, which rests atop a narrow chalky hill where the Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana meet. The best way to discover the historic center atop the hill is on foot: as you walk along, you will come across mighty Renaissance palaces before reaching, at the highest point of the town, the main piazza.

In less than two hours by car, you can easily reach Florence, whose museums house the greatest artistic treasures in the world. The most important sites in Florence include the Duomo, the Baptistery, the Uffizi, and the Churches of Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce. Wander the ancient streets of the city until you reach the Arno River, cross the Ponte Vecchio and experience the newest area of Florence, the Oltrarno. Where else can you stroll the same streets walked by Michelangelo, Leonardo and Botticelli, while savoring the world’s best gelato?

Villa Violante is 110 km from Florence Amerigo Vespucci International Airport and less than 250 km from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO). Buonconvento, where all the necessary services (supermarket, pharmacy, bank, post office, restaurants) can be easily found, is just 5 km from the villa. Montalcino is 18 km from the property, Siena is 30 km, Pienza is 31 km, Montepulciano is 44 km, San Gimignano is 70 km, and Florence is 101 km.

The Property. Surrounded by nature and immersed in a landscape of outstanding beauty, Villa Violante provides the perfect retreat for those seeking complete privacy and pure relaxation in the heart of Tuscany. This splendid residence, which has recently undergone a meticulous and loving restoration, is part of the Castelnuovo Tancredi Wine Estate, which stretches for 600 hectares in the Val d’Orcia, just a few kilometers from Siena and Montalcino. The property can accommodate up to eighteen, offering nine bedrooms spread across the main villa (seven bedrooms in the main villa) and the dépendance (two bedrooms in the main villa).

The property is surrounded by a lush garden where you will find a magnificent swimming pool and a large poolside area equipped with comfortable sun loungers, deckchairs, and parasols to protect from the sun on hot summer days. The spectacular views of the surrounding countryside instantly give a sense of peace and calm, making this exceptional poolside area the ideal place to enjoy moments of true relaxation and tranquility in the company of a good book and a glass of prosecco. The garden also boasts a generous al fresco dining area with barbecue, where guests can intimately spend time together while enjoying traditional Italian food and the mild Tuscan climate.

The main villa offers nine bedrooms and eight bathrooms spread across the north and south wing. On the ground floor of the north wing, the interior living space is furnished with comfortable sofas with plenty of seating, while large windows constantly offer inviting views over the garden, creating a luminous and airy atmosphere dominated by light colors. The ground floor also houses a large dining area and a modern fully-equipped kitchen.

On the first floor of the north wing, you will find four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The Yellow Room is a double bedroom featuring a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. The Blue Room is a double bedroom featuring a king-size bed (can be arranged as a twin room) and bathroom with shower next door. The Green Room is a double bedroom featuring a king-size bed with bathroom with shower next door. And the Kids Room is a twin room sharing the bathroom with the Green Room next door.

On the first floor of the south wing, you will find four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The Red Room is a twin room (which can be arranged as a double bedroom) with bathroom with tub next door. The Black Room is a double bedroom with king-size bed and a bathroom with shower. The Canopy Bedroom is a double bedroom with queen-size canopy bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. There is also a tenth bedroom, the second Kids Rooms, which is a twin room (please notice that this room has no air conditioning and for this reason it is usually not included in the rental) sharing the bathroom with the Canopy Bedroom.

On the same floor, you will also find a large living room with fireplace and comfortable sofas: as the evening falls, sit around the traditional fireplace and relax while enjoying a glass of Brunello with your fellow guests. The rustic vibe continues in the spacious Tuscan-style kitchen located on the same floor, which includes a small table where guests can enjoy their breakfast while sitting under the timber ceiling.

The depéndance of the villa boasts two comfortable double bedrooms with bathroom which are spread over two floors. The ground floor of the depéndance houses a spacious living room complete with fireplace, a large kitchen, and a comfortable double bedroom featuring a bathroom with shower, while the master bedroom (with queen-size bed) featuring en-suite bathroom with shower is located on the upper floor.

Please notice that there is a tenth bedroom, a twin room located on the first floor of the South wing of the main villa (one of the 8 rooms in the main villa), which has no air conditioning; for this reason, this room is usually not considered in the rental (so 7 rooms in the main villa are considered in the rental + the 2 rooms in the dépendance)
