Location and Surrounding Area. Immersed in the peaceful Marche countryside and offering spectacular views over the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, this magnificent seven-bedroom villa is ideally located to explore the region’s cultural highlights and most spectacular natural wonders. Situated in the heart of the region, just a few kilometers from the charming towns of Macerata, Ancona and Senigallia, Villa Amanda represents the perfect location for day trips to the most beautiful towns in the Marche region and provides a unique opportunity to admire the region’s iconic landscapes while soaking up its incredibly rich historical and cultural heritage.
In less than thirty minutes by car, you can easily reach Macerata, a sleepy university town surrounded by lovely countryside. Set amid gentle green hills, Macerata is a charming provincial town with a wonderfully preserved hilltop center and an animated student population. Its old town, threaded through by skinny cobblestone streets lined by honey-colored brick palazzi, springs to life in summer for the town's celebrated month-long opera festival.
In less than one hour by car, you can easily reach Ancona, the capital of the region. This bustling city is the main gateway to the area both by plane and ferry, giving the place the atmosphere of a Mediterranean frontier. The influence of the East is also evident in some of its earliest architectural attractions. Don't miss the Cathedral of San Ciriaco on the hill above the port: parts of the spectacular Byzantine mosaic floor of the original 6th century church can still be seen.
One of the unmissable destinations of your trip to the Marche region is certainly the city of Pesaro, which offers numerous attractions to its visitors. Among these, one of the masterpieces of Contemporary Art, the famous Palla di Pomodoro, made in bronze by the sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro. Pesaro is famous, however, also for its well-equipped coastline, which you can reach by bike thanks to its ultra-modern cycle paths. The Rossini Conservatory is the icing on the cake, dedicated to the famous musician who was born here.
Your adventure in the Marche cannot end without a thorough visit to the city of Urbino. Birthplace of the artist Raphael, Urbino is quiet, with a slow, natural pace: it is not uncommon to see elderly Italian men leaning on their windowsills to observe passers-by puffing steadily on their pipes. As dusk falls, it is time to go out again, and this is when Urbino becomes a truly wonderful place: residents get off from work, students emerge from classrooms, and the piazzas come to life with conversations and songs.
Villa Amanda is 50 km from Le Marche Airport, 260 km from Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport, 296 km from Florence Amerigo Vespucci International Airport, and 363 km from Pisa Galileo Galilei International Airport. Macerata is 23 km from the villa, Ancona is 43 km, Senigallia is 77 km, Pesaro is 121 km, Perugia is 137 km, Urbino is 141 km, and Rimini is 147 km.
