Location and Surrounding Area. Villa Isoletta is a homelike, waterfront property in Ossuccio, ideal for either a family holiday or time together with a small grou of friends. It is located on perhaps the most exclusive area of Lake Como, right in front of Lake Como's only island, Comacina. Lake Como has been an elite destination since the times of the Roman Empire and its glamorous inhabitants, cool blue water, wooded hillsides and dramatic Alpine backdrop ensure that every visitor remains enchanted.

The pretty town of Ossuccio is a short walk away and features pastel-coloured houses and a historical centre dating back to Roman times. It contains all of the necessary food shops, bars, banks and services that you might need during your stay. There is plenty to see here, you could spend days pottering around and visiting the various churches and private mansions. We particularly recommend a visit to Villa Balbianello and the Acquafredda Abbey. Ossuccio is part of the famous Greenway walk around the lake, which at times follows the Antica Via Regina. Once upon a time, this old Roman road was used by the ancient pilgrims on their way to Rome.

Bellagio is a captivating boat trip across the water and is known locally as La Perla del Lago (the pearl of the lake) for its outstanding beauty, quality restaurants, local trattorias, chic shopping and of course, the famous Italian homemade gelato ice cream. Ferries leave regularly for Bellagio from Cadenabbia. Menaggio is where the action is if you fancy meeting up with visitors from all over the world. The town centre is full of exclusive boutiques and traditional craft shops with a plethora of pretty piazzas for sipping a coffee and people-watching. The old town is marvellously medieval and you can take a walk along the enormous walls that once bordered the ancient castle.

Celebrity-studded Como is just up the road and features numerous churches, works of art, museums, theatres, palaces and public gardens. For the walkers, there is a funicular which runs up to the village of Brunate, 700 metres above Como. It is the starting point for some spectacular walking tracks and has superb views of the Alps. Como is famous for its silk and you can either see the full silk-making processes or just sit in the lively piazzas and watch the world go by. Como also hosts various international speed boat races and becomes a magnet for the rich and famous.

There is plenty to do on the waters of Lake Como. A whole host of water sports are available and it's easy to spend an entire day sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, water skiing and kite surfing. There are water skiing schools in Lezzano, a hydro-plane school for pilots in the town of Como and three sailing schools in Dervio.

Villa Isoletta is about 75 km from Malpensa and Linate international airports and 100 km from Bergamo international airport. It is located less than 10 km by car from the lakeside gem of Bellagio, about 20 km from the town of Como and just over an hour's drive into the centre of Milan. It is about 80 km from the motor racing circuit at Monza, which famously hosts the Italian Formula One Grand Prix. The nearest golf course is 10 km away.

The Property. This charming, 200-square-meter property feels just like home and sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms (a master bedroom and two double bedrooms), each with parquet flooring. The bedrooms all have their own bathroom and, in addition, the master bedroom offers a picturesque terrace overlooking the lake. The bedding is all of high quality and the whitewashed beamed ceilings make the rooms seem even lighter and brighter.

A staircase connects the two floors and the living accommodation is all on the ground floor. There's a spacious sitting room featuring architectural curves, a fireplace and enormous picture windows overlooking the lake. The views are breathtaking during the day and you can imagine the romance of the twinkling lights on the water at night. The kitchen is large and modern and has everything you might need for creating plenty of authentic local dishes to be enjoyed either inside or outside. The outdoor dining area is sheltered from either the hot sun or the rain so you can do as the locals do and dine al fresco whatever the weather. All three bedrooms are located on the upper floor. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom with shower. All bathrooms are adjacent to the bedrooms. The master bedroom also featuresa terrace overlooking the lake. 

The pretty garden leads down to the lakefront and you'll have your own private access to a jetty on the lake if you fancy renting a boat while you're here. The floodlit swimming pool is also right by the lake and has a fully furnished poolside area so you can splash around in the water even after dark and watch the boats go by as you breath in the heady perfume of the mediterranean bushes by the side of the house. You'll also find a small beach to the side of the property. At the back of the garden there is a pedestrian gate which, through a path and stairs, leads to the center of the village where you will find a grocery store, a bar and a rotisserie which ensures home deliveries.
