The villa is located in Mezzegra, which is part of the town of Tremezzina, one of the largest and most fascinating towns on the western shore of Lake Como.

Rich in history, art and culture, Tremezzina also offers some of the most evocative sceneries of Lake Como: the Comacina Island, the only island of Lake Como, is admired for its remarkable panoramic views and the lush Mediterranean vegetation. Villa Azalea is also just a stone’s throw away from Villa del Balbaniello: this elegant 18th-century villa sits on a promontory protruding into the lake, delighting visitors with its lavish gardens, unique loggia, and historic prominence in Italy’s fight for independence.

Reachable by boat, Bellagio is situated at the top of the so-called Lariano Triangle, at the base of the promontory that divides the lake into the branches of Como and Lecco. Bellagio represents one of the most famous and elegant towns of Lake Como, and is extremely well-known for its wonderful villas and gardens, mild climate and naturalistic-environmental characteristics of great charm. Argegno is a small village overlooking Lake Como in the area of its major depth, and its proximity to Como, Tremezzina, and other popular towns, makes it one of the most loved destinations by tourists from all over the world.

The Property. Immersed in the peace of Lake Como, Villa Azalea is the result of a perfect balance between Italian tradition and contemporary style, providing a unique retreat for those seeking complete privacy and pure relaxation in one of the most appreciated areas in Italy. Built in 1901 by an American admiral, this exclusive villa has been sympathetically restored to exceptional standards, adding the conveniences and comforts of modern living. The property measures 1,000 square meters and can host up to eighteen guests, offering nine double bedrooms and eight bathrooms distributed over four floors, internally connected by both staircase and elevator.

Immersed in a lush garden of 11,000 square meters, this magnificent property is disposed on four levels and includes an exceptional indoor heated swimming pool (5 x 10 meters) and a modern gym: fitness lovers will be able to keep up with their workout regimen without leaving the comfort of their own villa while enjoying the outstanding views of the surrounding nature. Next to the gym you will also find a convenient changing room and a bathroom with shower, hairdryer and towels. Outside, the villa boasts a generous al fresco dining area under a pergola where guests can intimately spend time together while enjoying traditional Italian food and the mild Mediterranean climate.

From the garden, guests can access the fully-equipped kitchen of 90 square meters and the two spacious dining rooms on the ground floor. Each room is uniquely furnished and richly decorated with pieces of contemporary design, while the large windows overlooking the garden create a luminous and airy atmosphere dominated by light colors. From the kitchen, through a sliding glass door, you can access a spacious al fresco dining area which houses a large table that can accommodate up to twelve people.

Flooded with light, the spacious living rooms on the first floor are furnished with comfortable sofas and elegant armchairs where guests can relax while enjoying a glass of Italian wine and choose from hundreds of international channels on the satellite flat-screen TV. One of the living rooms also features a charming fireplace. Each living room also offers direct access to the 250-square-meter terrace overlooking the garden, which is equipped with comfortable sofas, garden chairs and tables, representing the ideal place to enjoy wonderful moments of relaxation in the company of a good book and a glass of prosecco. On the first floor, you will also find a studio and a bathroom.

Located on the second floor, the double bedroom boasts plenty of light and private access to the terrace overlooking the garden and the lake, and includes an en-suite bathroom with shower. On the same floor, you will also find two double bedrooms sharing a large bathroom with shower, and another double bedroom offering charming views over the garden and featuring a private bathroom. Filled with light, the spacious double bedroom suite on the third floor features a king-size round bed, a double balcony offering charming views over Golfo di Venere and the Balbaniello area, a spacious walk-in closet, and a private bathroom with large shower. The third floor also houses a double bedroom with a balcony overlooking the lake, a walk-in closet, and a private bathroom with large shower. On the fourth floor, you will find a comfortable sitting room with roof terrace, one spacious bedroom with twin beds and one double bedroom sharing a bathroom with shower, and one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower.

Villa Azalea has now a new cottage with double rooftop bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and living room. The cottage is perfect for Guests who want to benefit from maximum privacy, while enjoying breath-taking views overlooking the lake. The cottage can be rented at an extra price, no matter how numerous the Guests’ group is, as per attached price list. Please note that it cannot be rented separately from the main Villa.

Wi-Fi Internet connection throughout the villa, air conditioning and heating, satellite TV (with Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Prime Video) and Hi-Fi system make this property complete and perfect for even the most demanding guests. The villa also features fine linen, pool towels, and complimentary toiletries. Further comforts and amenities include daily breakfast, housekeeping, welcome aperitif, gardening and a spacious parking area. The villa manager and private chef are always available to ensure the most comfortable stay possible, while the property’s guardian is available at nights and weekends.
