Immersed in the peaceful Tuscan countryside, this carefully-renovated estate is ideally located to explore Tuscany’s cultural highlights and most spectacular natural wonders. Situated in the heart of Chianti, halfway between Florence and Siena, Tenuta Conca Dorata takes its name from Tuscany’s Conca d’Oro, a fertile valley once famous for its golden corn. The Conca d’Oro is the part of Panzano that slopes down to the wide valley of the Pesa stream and exposed to the sun.

The vineyards in this picturesque part of Tuscany produce the grapes used in namesake Chianti and Chianti Classico, world-famous red wines. The Chianti region is a landscape where you will encounter historic olive groves, honey-coloured stone farmhouses, dense forests, charming Romanesque churches, Renaissance villas and imposing stone castles built in the Middle Ages by Florentine and Sienese warlords. Chianti’s Northern area sits in the province of Florence and is a popular day trip from that city.

The villa is just a stone's throw away from Panzano, which overlooks the Conca d’Oro, a “Golden Basin” of sunbaked, south-facing Sangiovese vines that produce some of the region’s most sought-after red wines. Panzano is also home to Chianti’s most famous butcher, Dario Cecchini. You can taste Dario’s meat cooked, too, at a trio of Cecchini-owned restaurants: Dario DOC, for informal lunch at communal tables, Solociccia, for hungry meat-lovers, and Officina Della Bistecca, for the very hungry carnivore.

The property is also just a few kilometres from Greve in Chianti, a gastronome’s paradise close to Panzano. Butchers around the town are famed for their beef, wild boar, cured pork and more. Surrounded by Chianti vineyards, Greve hosts the Chianti’s best-known grape harvest festival, the Expo del Chianti Classico: over a long weekend in September, there is guided outdoor tastings plus live music and other events. This is classic Chianti country: just like you have seen in pictures and Renaissance paintings.

Upon entering the property, guests are welcomed by a fountain radiating peace and inner balance. Located within a winery, this splendid villa is the perfect choice for those wishing to explore Tuscany and all that it has to offer. Here you can enjoy the view and relax in the beautiful garden that surrounds the entire estate, the heated outdoor pool, and the Finnish sauna built in the old barn. The barn is equipped with changing room, shower, and bathroom. The barn loggia is equipped with a kitchen and dining table.

In the garden, you will also find a wood oven area with a dining table for up to 14 people under the shade of a pergola. The avenue of olive trees that leads to the entrance, the vibrant and aromatic lemon garden, and the banks of shrubs and flowers placed as if to frame brief glimpses of the Tuscan hills and vineyards all serve to connect the estate with the surrounding landscape. Kindly note that property is part of a winery estate and the villa is located close to the winery offices. However, guests' privacy is guaranteed as no building overlooks the outdoor spaces.

On the ground floor you will find an elegant living room, a fireplace room, a cozy library, and an exceptional frescoed dining room with a long table for fourteen people. Sink into one of the comfy armchairs or sofas in the lounge areas and put your feet up after a long walk along the vineyards. When it is time to rustle up some dinner, you will find everything you need in the fully-equipped kitchen on the same floor. On the ground floor, you will also find a handy guest bathroom.

Covering an area of 135 hectares, the estate has recently undergone a careful restoration to preserve its historic charm: the exterior frames and windows were recovered, as were the interior doors, and the load-bearing beams were replaced and reused to create the oak wood flooring in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The seven double bedrooms, complete with en-suite bathroom with shower, are on the upper floor. On the upper floor you will also find a generous fireplace room complete with comfortable sofas and armchairs. Air conditioning is available throughout.
