The Property
Perched high on a panoramic promontory at the foot of Ravello, Torre di Ravello is a rare gem that unites centuries of history with the understated elegance of a private estate. With grand interiors, sweeping terraces, and inviting outdoor spaces, this exclusive property offers an unforgettable escape on the Amalfi Coast. Torre di Ravello comprises 7 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms set across four independent buildings, welcoming up to 14 guests in refined comfort.
Torre di Ravello was built between the 10th and 11th centuries as a Saracen watchtower and became a monastery in the 14th century. Later owned by a noble Neapolitan family, it was given as a wedding gift from a mother to her daughter. The couple began its restoration, later continued by American heiress Marajen Chinigo, who discovered the villa while sailing with her future husband. Captivated by its beauty, they bought and lovingly restored it. Since then, Torre di Ravello has remained a cherished retreat.
Set in 5 acres of citrus orchards and gardens, the estate has nine terraces with views of the mountains, sea, and nearby villages. Each terrace is perfect for a quiet dinner, morning coffee, or an evening drink under the stars. Outdoor dining includes a wood-fired pizza oven, barbecue, and long tables under lemon trees and fairy lights. The pool, with loungers, hammocks, and water features, offers a peaceful spot to relax. A greenhouse and gym complete this charming retreat.
The villa’s interiors are elegant and eclectic, marrying historic architecture with contemporary comforts. Guests can unwind in the Italian salotto or gather in the grand dining room for celebratory meals. The library invites quiet reflection, while the games room, bar, and grand piano create a space for joyful evenings. Original artworks and antiques add depth to the décor, and thoughtful modern touches, such as air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, and sound systems, ensure an effortless stay.
