From here, it’s easy to explore some of Lake Como’s most famous towns and villas, whether by car or by boat. The area surrounding Villa Du Lac is rich in beauty, history, and charm, with some of Lake Como’s most iconic destinations just moments away. A short drive or scenic walk takes you to Menaggio, a lively lakeside town with a picturesque promenade, elegant cafés, and a range of shops and restaurants. From Menaggio, it is easy to board a ferry and reach Bellagio and Varenna, two of the lake’s most famous and romantic villages, known for their colourful buildings, historic villas, and lush gardens.

Also nearby is Tremezzo, home to the splendid Villa Carlotta, a must-see attraction with its impressive collection of art and beautifully landscaped botanical gardens. Just beyond lies Lenno, a peaceful village tucked into a small bay, where the world-renowned Villa del Balbianello awaits. The Property
Situated on the western shore of Lake Como, a former boatyard in charming Griante, Villa Du Lac is now a modern architectural gem with striking industrial characteristics. Boasting premium facilities and bespoke services, this unique waterfront villa offers the perfect luxury retreat in one of the most evocative corners of Northern Italy. With an abundance of refined, elegant, and meticulously designed living space, Villa Du Lac can comfortably accommodate up to 16 guests in eight exquisitely appointed suites.

This 1,900-square-metre residence offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor facilities, along with stunning views over Lake Como. Outdoor highlights of this former boatyard include a lakeside heated pool, a spacious decked terrace with al fresco dining and lounge areas, a fire pit, and a private dock for guests who wish to rent a boat. A newly added hot tub on the ground-floor terrace accommodates up to four people and offers views of Bellagio and the mountains. The villa also provides direct lake access for swimming.

Villa Du Lac is a truly unique contemporary property where elements of the original industrial boatyard have been preserved and seamlessly integrated with remarkable architectural design and stylish interiors. Luxury defines the interior space too, which spans three levels and includes everything from SPA facilities to an expansive dining and living area with exceptional lake views, a library, a grand piano, a wine cellar, a modern gym, an office, and a fully equipped kitchen complete with bar.

The villa accommodates 16 guests across eight suites, all featuring air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, and comfortable, elegantly furnished spaces to retreat to at the end of the day. Most of the suites have access to the villa’s panoramic terraces and enjoy spectacular views over Lake Como. All suites are double bedrooms (please note that they cannot be converted into twin rooms). Air conditioning is available in all suites and in the spacious ground-floor living room.

Once a boatyard, the waterfront villa was transformed into a guesthouse in 2014. Elements of its past remain, creating a modern atmosphere enhanced by floor-to-ceiling windows, wood panelling and industrial-chic interiors. On the ground floor, you will find one suite with an en-suite bathroom with shower – the only suite that does not overlook the lake. In the library, which offers lake views, you can enjoy a good book while sampling one of the exceptional wines from the villa’s wine cellar.

Flooded with natural light, the ground floor also features a fully equipped kitchen, an American-style bar, a living room with comfortable sofas and ample seating, a generous dining room, a movie room, a grand piano, and a SPA area complete with sauna, steam room, bathroom, and massage area. A guest bathroom is also located on this floor, as well as an office and a billiard room. Fancy staying active? On the first floor, there are four suites, all with en-suite bathrooms. One suite has a bathroom with both a bathtub and shower, while the others have showers only. Three of the suites also have direct access to the terrace. On the second floor, you will find two suites with en-suite bathrooms with showers, and the eighth suite, which features an en-suite bathroom with both bathtub and shower. All the suites on this floor have access to the outdoor terrace.
