Villa Regina Antica - Rome
6 Bedrooms (4 suites, 2 double) - Pool
Dipped in a completely detached secular and spectacular park, Villa Regina Antica is fully sourrounded by pines, cypresses and olives trees, the typical vegetation of the Roman countryside. the Villa Regina Antica is set along the famous Via Appia Antica. The Via Appia was a Roman road that connected Rome to Brindisi, the most important port for Greece and the Orient in the world of ancient Rome. The Appia is probably the most famous Roman road which may have been the remains, its importance is confirmed by the nickname by which the Romans called: Regina viarum (Queen Road). Recently the road has been completely restored and passes through the Park of the Appia Antica, a natural and archeological widest area that includes the first 16 Km of the ancient consular road. Along the incredible walking you can find many archeological sites dating back to the Republican and Imperial age. Every sunday and on holidays the whole area of the Park, is closed to private traffic and it thus becomes Rome's biggest pedestrian zone. It should be a very incredible experience to walking around by foot, bike or even by horse! The centre town of Rome with the rest of its million things to do and see is only at 10 km.
Villa Regina Antica is featured by elegant and refined architectures, a manicured and widest garden where the solarium and a private pool lay, together with a winter garden and the orangery for leisure time, to make perfect a relaxing and private holiday. A 10 m x 4 m swimming pool is set in the garden to have the right view of the garden and the villa, keeping the due privacy. The swimming pool is equipped with sunshade parasols, lounge chairs, sunbeds.
Villa Regina Antica is located in a 3 hectares of olive groves and gardens, only 20 minutes from Rome downtown, this wonderful home with its marvellous air of rusticity, modestly described from its owner as a “pleasant place" to stay. It was built during the XVIII century as holiday villa for a noble roman family, as you can see from the original shapes it keeps: in the past time a staircase with long steps allowed to reach the access to the bedrooms of the second floor by the horses.
