The sumptuous Terre di Franciacorta is a superb example of an Italian manor house from the 1700s. It is situated in the heart of Bornato, a pretty village in the famous wine producing area of Franciacorta. The countryside surrounding the house is rich in rolling hills, trailing vines and vineyards as the area is notable for both its world class sparkling DOCG whites and delicious ruby red wines. DOCG is the highest classification for Italian wines and the Franciacorta cantinas are open to the public for wine tasting sessions.

The hot springs and thermal baths in Sirmione on the southern shore of Lake Garda have been a tourist destination since the time of the Romans in the first century A.D. The spring has a high content of sulphur, sodium and iodine and gushes out at a temperature of 69°C. It is as famous for its health giving properties as the sheer relaxing bliss of simply soaking in the hot water.

Lake Iseo and its islands are an undiscovered gem compared to the more famous Lake Como, Garda and Maggiore. It is well off the beaten tourist track and yet is arguably the most spectacular lake in Northern Italy. In addition to the natural beauty of the lake, the food is fantastic, the wines excellent, the water sports plentiful and the culture rich.

For golfing fans, the nearest golf courses are at Franciacorta Golf Club, which features three 9-hole courses or the Garda Golf course, which is recognised internationally.

Terre di Franciacorta makes an ideal base for large families or groups of friends. It is large enough to give everyone space yet intimate enough to create that cozy feeling of warmth.

The villa Terre di Franciacorte is within walking distance of all the main services in the village. The international airports of Linate and Malpensa are 80 km and 120 km respectively. The up and coming Art City of Brescia is only 16 km, Lake Iseo 30 km and the thermal baths in Sirmione 55 km. The city of Milan is about 80 km away and the charming town of Lecco on Lake Como only 75 km.

The Property. The house comfortably sleeps 14 guests and on request, other rooms can be opened to accommodate a total of 18 people. The huge, porticoed veranda runs along the front of the house and makes a beautiful location for aperitifs, al fresco dining or just lounging away the summer afternoons. The delightful view from the veranda takes ones gaze out across the exquisite lawns of the walled garden and the large swimming pool.

The interior of the villa covers about 1000 sq. m. and is magnificently decorated. The ground floor offers an enormous sitting room with sofas and a television, three alternative reading/sitting rooms of which two have fireplaces, an elegant dining room big enough to host everyone and a kitchen fitted with two ovens, a fridge and dishwasher. The kitchen is large enough to house its own comfortable sitting area and can be used for in-house cookery courses if guests are interested. All of the rooms on the ground floor open out onto the veranda.

The first floor features a double suite with a connecting twin room and is ideal for family privacy. There are also four other double rooms and seven bathrooms in total. The other double bedroom is in the cottage by the swimming pool. For groups of up to 18 people, there is the possibility to open up two further rooms but at an extra cost; one triple room with single beds and a single room.

The swimming pool measures 12m x 6m and comes complete with diving board, cover and pool alarm. The poolside area is furnished with sun loungers and small tables. There is a handy pool house for changing and showering and also a recreation room with table tennis and table football games.
