Villa del Parco
Liguria - La Spezia

A spectacular land of mountains descending sharply to the sea. Mountains and cliffs that seem to rise directly out of the Ligurian Sea, in the far northern reaches of the Mediterranean. This is the dominant landscape of Liguria, fascinating and breathtaking, which induces an intensity of emotions and sensations in the visitor that will never leave during a tour through this region, so full of historic memories and a dynamic and severe (the mythical Genoese thrift) participation in the modern world.

Villa del Parco – La Spezia – Ligurian Coast7 Bedrooms (5 double, 2 single) – PoolLiguria is one of Italy's smallest regions, a mountainous sliver of moon on Italy's northern coast known as the Italian Riviera. La Spezia is a main train center and from La Spezia's port ferries run in summer to Portovenere, Lerici, and the Cinque Terre. La Spezia has pedestrian only shopping streets, a castle, and several museums. In 2006, La Spezia came in third on the list of Italy's most livable cities. This town could be the best place to discovery the region and also to reach many place in the neighbouring Tuscany (Versilia, Pisa, Lucca, VIareggio and Livorno are at maximum 1 hour drive away). Closer to the town are other wonderful destinations as: Levanto, on the coast, is popular in both summer and winter. There are remains of its medieval walls and castle. Le Cinque Terre, the five lands, are a group of five villages accessed by train, ferry or also popular hiking trails between the villages. Lerici and Portovenere, on the Gulf of Poets, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Sarzana is a small walled town famous for its antique shops. On the northern coast you can easily reach fishing villages (Camogli, Sestri) and vip location (Portofino, Rapallo and Santa Margherita). East of the famed five villages of the Cinque Terre is the equally compelling Gulf of Poets, the Gulf of La Spezia given a literary nickname for its attraction to some of the world's most celebrated poets who came as Percy Bysshe Shelley and Lord Byron. Dante and Petrarch spoke of the natural beauty of the gulf. |
