The villa is just a stone’s throw away from Cortona, a hilltop town near Arezzo. The movie “Under the Tuscan Sun” was shot here and in the magical surrounding hills. ⁠This charming Tuscan town, enclosed by stone walls dating back to Etruscan and Roman times, clings to the side of a mountain overlooking the Val di Chiana, looking out to Lake Trasimeno and neighboring Umbria.⁠ Enjoy dining at one of Cortona’s many excellent restaurants every evening, just steps from your front door.

The villa is a few kilometers from the medieval town of Montepulciano. Standing high atop a hill not far from Siena, the town of Montepulciano boasts elegant Renaissance palaces, ancient churches, charming squares, and breathtaking views over the wonderful Val d’Orcia. From the villa, in less than one hour by car, you can also reach Montalcino, extremely well-known for producing its Brunello red wine, one of the world’s most appreciated Italian wines.

Some 50 kilometers south of Siena, you will come across Pienza, a jewel among some of the most magnificent and typical Tuscan landscapes, a wonderful little center of Renaissance order and urbanity. Nestled between the cathedral, the Piccolo-mini palace, another palace built by young cardinal Rodrigo Borgia, and the Palazzo Comunale, which houses the town council offices, is the settlement of Pienza, which boasts a gorgeous central Corso and a spectacular main square.

The villa is a few kilometers from Perugia, Umbria’s largest city. Its historic center rises in a helter-skelter of cobbled alleys, arched stairways and piazzas framed by churches and palazzi. Reminders of its lively past are everywhere, from ancient arches and medieval basilicas to Renaissance frescoes. But while history reverberates all around, Perugia knows how to party: university students pep up the nightlife and fill café terraces, while music-lovers swarm to the city in July for Umbria Jazz, one of Europe’s top jazz festivals.

The Property. Set against the enchanting backdrop of the Tuscan countryside, Villa Cortona is set in well maintained private grounds, which include a large pool, and overlook the stunning Tuscan hills and medieval town of Cortona. With a gated driveway leading up to the villa with its central courtyard, this elegant property offers guests privacy and serenity, making it the perfect place to rest, relax and recharge your batteries. Villa Cortona can accommodate up to twenty guests in ten double bedrooms spread over the main villa and the farmhouse.

A splendid driveway, lined with tall pine trees, leads to this handsomely restored property. Original timber beams, stone floors and elegant archways give its rooms a welcoming country charm that is enhanced by supremely tasteful furnishings. The wonderfully curated gardens feature a shaded pergola with lounge and dining spots, a barbecue, a private pool, and a large poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers inviting guests to stretch out and unwind while soaking up some rays.

Main Villa: Spread over three floors, the main villa sleeps ten guests in five double bedrooms. The main entrance hall, with its marble floors, leads to the study, the living room, the well-equipped kitchen, and the bathroom. From the entrance hall, a stone staircase leads up to the first floor and its spacious living area with balcony, which overlooks the central courtyard. The first floor boasts two double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom. The second floor boasts three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, as well as fully equipped laundry.

Farmhouse: Spread over two floors, the farmhouse sleeps ten guests in five double bedrooms. Furnished with a central table enhanced by the presence of a magnificent chandelier, the main entrance hall leads to a spacious and well-furnished lounge area, a generous dining room, and a well-equipped kitchen with central island and adjoining pantry. On the same floor, you will also find a handy laundry room. A stone staircase leads up to the first floor with five double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom.
